About us
I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, 'Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.'

What we believe

We live here and want to put down roots, roots that leave a legacy of thoughtfulness, groundedness, community, and joy. Our vision to create a vibrant community of nature, garden and plant lovers who are constantly learning, willing to fail and try again. Ultimately, we are cultivating a passion, empowering through information and spreading love for creating more than we consume.

This is part of our journey to plant, root and bloom.

How it began

I remember helping Grandma and Grandpa pick greenbeans in the community garden, sneaking in and eating Grandpa's juicy raspberries between the garages, Grandma's lilac hedge, my dad carrying buckets of water to saplings barely peaking out from the grass, and pulling weeds in my mom's giant vegetable garden.

It began as early as I can remember. Learning when to plant and what to plant where, what works and what doesn't. These are my roots.

I am currently still a student of high-altitude Colorado gardening. I have killed my fair share of plants and have an on-going love/hate relationship with elk and deer. But I continue to experiment and learn to be a steward of this high-altitude landscape.

My professional background is in teaching high school biology and chemistry. But after midlife career pivot, and spending a few years emersed in the backend of gardening industry, I decided I wanted something more. And so this journey began.

What we do

We're committed to staying rooted in our values of community, learning, biodiversity, and sustainability. By adapting, designing smarter, and turning challenges into opportunities. We want to help work with the conditions and features already present, learn how to accomodate and evolve to create spaces that are naturalistic and nuturing in every way. We are passionate about always persuing more connection and sustainablity in our products and procedures--less AI more interaction, less plastic more progress.
