Pikes Peak purple penstemon is a perennial flower with spikes of purple flowers in mid summer. The narrow leaves form an upright, lustrous mound of shiny green foliage.
Its color and shape make it a good choice for both traditional perennial flower beds and more naturalistic designs.
This plant is a good penstemon for foothills gardens. It is adaptable to a variety of soil types and water zones, which makes it easy to grow. It is a fine leaved variety which, in our experience, tend to be more deer/elk resistant than the wider leaved varieties of penstemon.
